Two days ago the Chicago SWAT Team conducted a high risk warrant. Sgt's AK and Dumb Blond invited two retired Dallas SWAT members to participate. These retired Dallas SWAT members brought and dressed in full SWAT gear, along with assault rifle and handgun. Although being an observer is one thing, but these individuals participated in the "stack", busting out windows and putting hands on. I'm sure several department rules were violated, along with the safety of our SWAT Team members.
The lack of leadership from the top down to specialized units have become very obvious. I can understand an outsider participating in SWAT training exercises, but actual SWAT high risk warrants are another thing.
Where is the accountability?
